Developer Takao Sunagawa ("the Developer") provides the iOS/iPadOS application "TypeShot" ("the App") and related services ("the Service"). This Privacy Policy explains our commitment to protecting your privacy and how your data is handled.
1. On-Device, Privacy-First Architecture
The App is built on a local-first, serverless architecture designed to protect user privacy.
Your Photos Stay on Your Device: All photo importing, subject cutouts (powered by Apple's Vision framework), layer manipulation, typography rendering, and image exports occur strictly on your device. The Developer does not operate external servers to collect or store your photos or designs. Your personal media is never uploaded to the cloud.
2. Device Permissions and Usage
The App requests standard iOS permissions strictly to provide core features:
2.1 Photo Library Access
- Photo Selection (PhotosPicker): Allows you to pick specific photos for editing. The App only accesses photos you explicitly select; it never accesses your broader library without permission.
- Saving Finished Designs: Uses photo library access permissions (
NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription) solely to save exported designs directly to your Photos app (Note: Exporting designs containing Pro fonts requires TypeShot Pro).
2.2 App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
- Ad Optimization: For users on the Free Plan, the App may request permission to track (
NSUserTrackingUsageDescription) to deliver relevant ads via Google AdMob. - User Choice and Control: Declining tracking does not restrict or limit any features of the App; non-personalized ads will be served instead. You can enable or disable tracking permissions at any time in your iOS device settings under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
3. Third-Party Services and SDKs
The App utilizes trusted third-party SDKs exclusively for subscription management and advertising:

4. Data Storage and Retention
- All project files and images are stored within the App's secure local sandbox.
- Deleting the App permanently removes all local project data from your device, per iOS operating system standards.
5. Apple App Privacy Labels
In accordance with Apple App Store privacy disclosures:
- Data Not Linked to You: Purchases (subscription status), Identifiers (ad measurement), Usage Data (diagnostics).
- User Content & Photos: Not Collected.
6. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect app updates or legal requirements. Updated policies take effect immediately upon posting to this website.
